Blooming hydrangeas along the trail:

Hike and Breathe: Unlock Forest Bliss

Tiantai Mountain is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, peculiar rock formations, crystal-clear waterfalls, lush woods, and dreamy clouds. In summer, the mountain stays 4–6°C cooler than the city — a perfect environment for forest hikes, birdsong, and tranquility.

Follow the trail to see iconic waterfalls like Panlong, Xiangshui, and Changhong. During the rainy season, the water roars like thunder, mist fills the air, and the scenery resembles a dynamic watercolor painting. It’s a sensory delight.

June Blossoms: A Sea of Hydrangeas

Summer in Tiantai means blooming hydrangeas. Located near Zhengtian Terrace, this floral haven will reach peak bloom in late June. Creeks run along the trail, reflecting the forest’s greenery, with endless shades of matcha green soothing your soul.

Take a moment, close your eyes, breathe deep, and let the aroma of flowers and sunshine reset your spirit.

Cool Off by the Water: Summer Splash Fun

Massive waterfalls, cool streams, shallow pools, mirror-like lakes, and playful springs — Tiantai is a water-lover’s paradise. Play in the water with friends and family, feel the refreshing splash, and let the mountain stream melt away the heat.

Try exciting water activities like floating planks, water swings, and log bridges. Perfect for thrill-seekers!

Glow in the Dark: Firefly Wonderland

Tiantai Mountain is one of the top 8 firefly-watching spots in the world, and the largest in Asia. From April to November, this place turns into a glowing fairytale under the night sky.

Best viewed at Zhengtian Terrace, Sandao Bay, Yehe Ridge, and Xiaojiawan around 8 PM. Before the show, visit the Firefly Micro-Museum to learn about their ecosystem and behavior. You can also explore the Geological and Silk Road Museums for extra discovery.
